Amina Privacy Policy

What we collect
We collect account details, profile preferences, adult eligibility attestation, content you choose to save or share, purchase status, service activity needed for progress, and technical information needed to keep Amina reliable and secure.
Sensitive content
Journal entries, mood check ins, private reflections, duas, and conversations are treated as sensitive. Their text is not sent to product analytics or advertising systems.
How data is used
Data is used to provide Amina, maintain account access, personalize the companion experience, save preferences, process chat requests, maintain progress, protect the community, respond to reports, process purchases, and improve reliability. Amina does not sell private spiritual or emotional disclosures.
Location
If you choose to share your location to find a nearby mosque, Amina sends precise coordinates to its server and OpenStreetMap search services for that one search. The coordinates are not saved to your profile or used for advertising. You can search by city or ZIP instead.
Service providers
Amina uses Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and account emails; OpenAI for AI chat processing; OpenStreetMap search services for user requested mosque searches; RevenueCat and Apple for in-app purchases; Stripe only for web subscription paths if used outside the iOS app; Sightengine or similar safety providers for media review; and Vercel or similar hosting/logging infrastructure for app delivery. These providers process data only as needed to operate Amina.
Logs and analytics
Amina records privacy-safe product events such as sign in, chat exchange metadata, export request, or reminder settings. These events do not include private chat text, reflection text, du'a text, saved memory text, or media contents. Server logs may include technical request data needed for security, debugging, and reliability.
Tracking and advertising
Amina does not use advertising identifiers, third-party ad tracking SDKs, or tracking domains. Amina does not sell personal data.
Media and moderation
Circle images and voice notes are automatically reviewed before storage. Approved media is stored privately and shown through temporary links. Reported content is handled immediately by automated policy rules. Safety reports contain the reported item, reason, reporter, status, and automated action.
Retention
Account content is kept while the account is active. A deletion request starts processing immediately and is targeted for completion within 30 days. Operational logs are targeted for deletion within 90 days. Safety records may be retained for up to 24 months when needed to investigate abuse, protect users, or meet legal obligations.
Your choices
You can control reminders, report or block users, and request account and personal data deletion inside the app.
